What is a CSA?

  • CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. It can look like a lot of different things in practice, but the heart of it is a direct relationship between a local community of people and their farmers. For our CSA members, we provide custom mixes of beef, pork, chicken, and lamb delivered to your home on a monthly basis.

Can I choose which meats I get in my deliveries?

  • Yes, you can choose any combination of Beef, Pork, Chicken, and Lamb. Additionally, you can specify your favorite cuts and which cuts you’d prefer not to get at all. We then use your preferences to pack your deliveries. The exact cuts you get will be different each time, but they will always be from your approved list. You are welcome to make updates whenever needed.

When do my deliveries start?

  • New members start getting deliveries 1-2 months after signing up. Part of what helps our CSA work is that our members pay a month or two in advance for the meat that we raise for them. This helps us cover the costs of raising and processing the animals.  Once your deliveries begin, they continue year-round.

Do I need to be at home to receive my delivery?

  • No, we drop off your frozen meat in an insulated bag that keeps it cold for over 12 hours, so you don't have to be at home to accept the delivery.  You'll just want to make sure you can get to it by that evening.

How often will I get deliveries?

  • Full Size subscriptions get deliveries each month.  Half Size and Bite Size subscriptions get deliveries every other month.

Can I pause my deliveries?

  • Yes, just send us an email and we can pause your subscription for any length of time: contact@moomawfarm.com

Can I switch between Full Size, Half Size, or Bite Size after my deliveries start?

  • Yes, send us an email and we’ll make the change: contact@moomawfarm.com

Can I change my meat preferences after I sign-up?

  • Yes, at any time.  Simply visit our Members Page. It can take a little while for us to implement these changes, so you may not see them reflected in your upcoming delivery, but you will see your updated preferences in all following deliveries.

What happens if I’m going to be out of town when my delivery is scheduled?

  • Let us know via email (contact@moomawfarm.com) and we can make other arrangements for you.  Sometimes we can reschedule your delivery for another date that same month, or more likely we’ll deliver it the following month.  If you are going to be gone for a longer period of time, we can pause your subscription until you get back.

How long does the CSA go for?

  • We do CSA deliveries year-round on an ongoing basis, so your subscription continues as long as you want it to.  There is no renewal period, it’s simply a month-to-month subscription that goes indefinitely.  You can cancel or pause at any time.
